Day 13: Frankfurt am Main

“Day 13: This is a single note set from Frankfurt am Main, issued sometime in 1921 or 1922. It has a denomination of 50 Pf. The note features a young boy and girl excitedly inspecting a couple of new pieces of Notgeld they just acquired. The boy is holding a Notgeld collector's album under his arm.

This note is interesting because it is one of a few pieces of Notgeld that were created and sold by contemporary Notgeld dealers. Many of these early dealers were already established stamp or coin dealers prior to the first wave of Notgeld in 1914, and by the time the craze of collecting Notgeld reached its first peak in Germany in the early 1920's they also became dealers in Notgeld.

The catalog value for the note is around $20. Here you can find more info about this set and others.”
