3. Ahaus (City / Stadt)

Ahaus is a city located in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The city has a long history dating back to the Middle Ages, when it was a small settlement on the Ahauser Becken, a fertile lowland area in the Münsterland region. Ahaus was first mentioned in written records in the 9th century, and by the 12th century it had become an important market town. The city grew and prospered in the Middle Ages, and many of its historic buildings and landmarks, such as the St. Marien Church and the City Hall, date back to this period.

In the 19th century, Ahaus underwent significant industrialization, and the city became a hub for the production of textiles and other goods. The 20th century saw further economic and population growth in Ahaus, and the city continued to modernize and develop.
